PKS Camp Information

General Information

PKS is football's leading developer of college scholarship talent at all levels. We feature teaching camps, where each player is evaluated on film and coached individually. Instruction is provided for Kickers and Punters of all styles, including soccer-style, American soccer-style (cantor), American Wedge, and conventional (straight on). We also provide comprehensive training for holders, long snappers, and kicking coaches. Parents are encouraged to attend all field sessions and meetings.

During PKS camp sessions, Coaches Ray and Rob Pelfrey start their evaluation process for selecting players to place on the scholarship, PKS, USA TODAY, ALL-American and ALL-State watch lists. Juniors with scholarship potential are also evaluated. All of the PKS 200-plus college scholarship players are products of these camps. In the past six years, USA TODAY named 18 out of 20 PKS program players USA TODAY All-Americans.

PKS camps attract players from across the United States and Canada. Campers have the opportunity to test and compare their level of development with campers from various regions of the country. Competition is by grade level. PKS camps are open to players in grades 8 through 12, college, and Pro Free Agents. Instruction is by age and ability.

For information about PKS services for pre-high school youth, view the Future Stars: PKS Youth Players section.

Note that PKS offers special reduced fees for long snappers and holders. For more information, contact us.

Camp Staff

All PKS camps feature instructors who are Pro and College Kickers. All instructors are former PKS campers, and are well-schooled and experienced in exclusive PKS advanced techniques and training methods. Learn more about PKS camp staff members.

Camp Details

PKS Private Camps are limited to 14 Kickers and 14 Punters. Separate formal morning and afternoon sessions are held for kicking and punting instruction. Kicking instruction is provided in the morning; punting instruction is held in the afternoon. The morning kicking session is followed by practice reps, with individual technique coaching and corrections. Each camper is provided with the option of attending both kicking and punting sessions without extra fees.

For example, a dual player can participate as a kicker in the morning, then as a punter in the afternoon. If a Kicker does not punt, he can participate in the second free kicking session in the afternoon for reps and additional coaching as needed. All Punters should report in the morning session if they want to participate in both punting sessions.

There are no limits on the number of participants in PKS Open Camps. We provide ample staff to see that each player receives individual analysis and correction as required.

Parents and players are responsible for their own accommodations, meals, and transportation. Parents are welcome to attend all coaching sessions. Players must bring all required kicking equipment with them to camp (footballs, shoes, holder, block).

Scholarship Development Camps

PKS Scholarship Development Camps are held during the summer, and are open to all age groups and classes (high school, college, and Pro Free Agents). The camps are typically live-in, and players are usually housed at campus dorm facilities. Parents are welcome to attend all coaching sessions.

PKS Scholarship Development Camps are first and foremost teaching camps, and provide the opportunity for competition and comparison of skill levels to other Kickers and Punters. Camp activities and schedule are similar to the above examples. PKS Scholarship Development Camps are particularly important for graduating high school seniors.

In addition to PKS technique training for all ages and levels, PKS Scholarship Development Camps address the following specific needs:

  1. Training for high school senior Kickers that are graduating and must master kicking "off-the-ground" for competition at the college level. Campers learn how to film an off-the-ground demo tape to add to their recruiting package.
  2. Evaluation of players at their current level of ability versus their ability once they are coached using PKS professional techniques. We judge scholarship potential based on a player's current ability and their projected level of ability after coaching.
  3. A third phase of the camp is directed towards coaching high school juniors up, and identifying those with exceptional talent and scholarship potential.

PKS scholarship referrals continue to lead all similar programs in football.
