PKS/Pelfrey Firsts in the Kicking Field
High School, College and the NFL
Each of the following accomplishments were attained by PKS before any other kicking and punting school in the country. The list below is in addition to Coaches Ray and Rob Pelfrey's other accomplishments. PKS not only out-performs all other other kicking and punting schools in the country, but they consistently look to the future by developing state-of-the-art techniques for both kicking and punting.
- PKS developed the "American Style" Placekicking Techniques that took the "hook" out of the soccer-style kicking and established new accuracy standards at the professional, college, and high school levels.
- Developed the modern day "American Wedge" Placekicking Technique.
- Developed the "All-Pro Punting" Techniques.
- Developed the PKS signature techniques for improved leg-lock action at ball-foot contact, exploding overall distance accuracy and consistency.
- PKS has had the most consecutive USA TODAY High School All-American selections, 1st and 2nd Teams. This is more than any other program in football (Punters and Kickers).
- The first to coach and develop five consecutive Division 1-A collegiate Punters, all from the same college.
- The first program to institute the concept of a High School Recruiting Combine (Kickers and Punters) for college Coaches to scout.
- The first to conduct "winter camps" for year-round training.
- The first to produce a national distance field goal record holder. It still stands at 68 yards. Boy that is long!
- First to institute a Free Agent Field Training Program for potential NFL Punters and Kickers, with NFL Special Teams Coaches on the field screening participants.
- First program of its kind to "nationalize" camp locations for Kickers and Punters.
- The first program of its kind to have trained and placed high school Kickers and Punters in colleges on full scholarships totaling over $1,000,000.00 in a single year.
- The first program to be named "The best program of its kind in the Country" by Sports Illustrated magazine.
- Coach Ray Pelfrey was named the "Top Kicking Instructor in the Country" by Herman Masin, editor of Scholastic Coach Magazine, a monthly publication for over 60 years on high school and college athletics.
- First to know that there will be more firsts written into the history books by PKS in the near future!
